Raphaël Feuillâtre Concert
With Alexia Knopp as the support act

Regarded as the new global face of classical guitar, Raphaël Feuillâtre captivates audiences and critics alike with the depth of his interpretations, his dazzling virtuosity and the breadth of his repertoire.
Winner of first prize at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America competition (USA – 2018) and ADAMI’s ‘Révélation Classique 2021’ award, Raphaël was signed as an exclusive artist by Deutsche Grammophon in 2022 and is, to date, one of the very few guitarists to have joined the label. This fruitful collaboration gave rise to his debut album, ‘Visages Baroques’, in 2023. On this album, Raphaël reveals different facets of the Baroque aesthetic with a programme centred on the works of Bach and Rameau. His second album, ‘Spanish Serenades’, features masterpieces from the Spanish repertoire, including works by Albéniz, Granados, Llobet, Rodrigo and Tárrega. It includes one of Granados’s Danzas españolas with violinist María Dueñas, as well as Rodrigo’s legendary Concierto de Aranjuez, recorded with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy.
Following a highly acclaimed debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in the spring of 2023, he has performed at prestigious venues and festivals – such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Verbier Festival, La Folle Journée in Nantes, the Edinburgh International Festival and the Beethoven Haus in Bonn – as well as at major events in the world of guitar music, including the Paris International Guitar Festival, the Guitarras del Mundo Festival in Argentina and the Changsha International Guitar Festival in China. In recent years, he has also performed as a soloist with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, the Metz National Orchestra, the Auvergne National Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Santa Rosa Symphony, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra and Divertimento, amongst others…
Her passion for chamber music and her desire to bring her instrument to these settings have led her to collaborate with musicians of the very highest calibre: recorder player Lucie Horsch, trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary and violinist Maria Dueñas at events such as Deutsche Grammophon’s Yellow Lounge, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Dresden Music Festival, the Cité de la Musique in Paris and the Società del Quartetto di Milano – Sala G. Verdi.
Born in 1996 in Djibouti, Raphaël was introduced to the guitar by his first teacher, Hacène Addadi, in Cholet, before joining Michel Grizard’s class at the Nantes Conservatoire in 2012. Three years later, he enrolled at the Paris National Conservatoire of Music and Dance, studying first under Roland Dyens and then under Tristan Manoukian.
In addition to winning first prize at the GFA, Raphaël has built up a strong reputation in the classical guitar world by distinguishing himself in the following competitions: the José Tomás International Guitar Competition in Villa Petrer (Spain – 2017), the Kutná Hora International Guitar Festival (Czech Republic – 2017), the Viseu International Spring Music Festival (Portugal – 2016), and the Ciudad de Coria International Guitar Festival (Spain – 2014).
As an ambassador for the guitar and keen to contribute to the development of its repertoire, he has arranged numerous works from the repertoire of the instruments he is particularly fond of – with a special preference for keyboard instruments such as the piano and the harpsichord – a preference that is particularly evident in the choice of programmes he records.
Students from all over the world benefit from his guidance during masterclasses, from the San Francisco Conservatory to the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and the Geneva University of Music, amongst others. Furthermore, he is involved in projects to raise awareness of the arts, particularly since a tour of the USA during which he took part in numerous outreach sessions in schools and prisons.
Raphaël Feuillâtre is sponsored by Savarez, a long-established string manufacturer founded in 1770, and plays a guitar made by the Australian luthier Greg Smallman.
