The teaching team

Jérémy Jouve

Regarded as one of the leading ambassadors of classical guitar worldwide, Jérémy Jouve trained under the masters Alberto Ponce and Roland Dyens. His talent was recognised at a very early age, he gave his first concerto with an orchestra at the age of 10 before winning, at the age of 24, the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America competition in Mexico. This accolade marked the start of an international career that has taken him to the world’s greatest stages and led to his first recording with Naxos.

Alongside his career as a concert performer, he has a distinguished teaching career at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris and the Pôle Supérieur Paris Boulogne-Billancourt. His discrography showcases both the great spanish repertoire and contemporary works, through collaborations with composers such as Mathias Duplessy, Karol Beffa and Thierry Escaich. Nominated for a Grammy Awards in 2012 for the album Traveling Sonata recorded with flutist Viviana Guzman, he continues to pursue a rich artistic career, open to new encounters and aesthetic cross-pollination.

Orestis Kalampalikis

Orestis Kalampalikis is a greek guitarist and composer who trained at the National Conservatory of Athens before joining Roland Dyens’ class at the Paris National Conservatoire of Music (CNSMDP). He obtained his Higher Education Diploma there in 2009, and rounded off his studies by taking courses in composition with Bernard Cavanna and in orchestral conducting with Henri-Claude Fantapié. Having completed a Master’s degree in Musical and Sound Composition (University of Paris VII), he went on to specialise in contemporary composition and music for film.

A winner of several international competitions as a performer, he has won first prizes in Greece and France, amongst other places. His compositions have also won awards at international compétitions in Serbia and Turkey. A well-known soloist, he has collaborated with artists such as Mashal Arman, Cybèle Castoriadis and Elena Papandreou. As a composer for the theatre, he has written works for the RL and Strates companies, which have been recognised by the Ibsen Institute. He was responsible for musical reviews for Guitare Classique magazine for three years. In 2025, he recorded Mikis Theodorakis’s Rhapsody for Guitar & Orchestra with the Athens State Orchestra.

A LITTLE STORY :
What did Roland Dyens say about ensemble music ?

« I was a bit sceptical about ensemble music for guitar because what I’d heard so far hadn’t appealed to me, hadn’t convinced me, hadn’t captivated me, because it was all rather rough transcriptions. But then I got into it and I said to myself : if, with a guitar ensemble, you don’t pause and focus on the colours, the timbres, the soundscapes, then you’re really missing out on something. And that’s when I really got into {…} playing in a band, because it’s not just about the sound, it’s about the human experience. I love it. I’ll be playing alongside other guitarists and it’s going to be an adventure, a journey we take together, we’ll build it together. »

3. IMPROVISATION WORKSHOPS

« Improvisation, is a barometer for judging the atmosphere and the acoustics. I can’t avoid it, it’s the best way to get started, to ease into a recital. » Roland Dyens
