Roland Dyens in the Skaï Guitar Festival 2026 : Trio Ao Vivo and trainees concert

Trio Ao Vivo

Brazilian Popular Music

Roland Dyens always had a great love for Latin American music, and in particular Brazilian music, which, as he used to say, ran through his veins.

During his early concerts between 1977 and 1981, he performed a first set as a soloist and a second set devoted to Brazilian music with his musicians Yannick Le Goff (flute), Jean-Luc Ceddaha and Paul Mindy (percussion), Michel Terrioux (vibraphone) and Jean-Christophe Hoareau (double bass and percussion).

Today, to mark the concerts paying tribute to the 10th anniversary of his death, a trio is reuniting, comprising Orestis Kalampalikis, a pupil of Roland Dyens at the Paris Conservatoire, de Yannick Le Goff, a flautist, and Paul Mindy, a percussionist, both of whom were members of the « original » group.

This trio, named AO VIVO in homage to Roland Dyens’ trio CD, performs Roland Dyens’ compositions and arrangements of Brazilian and Latin American folk music.
