Roland Dyens International Competition 2026 / Classical Guitar Revelations

What if you were the Classical Guitar Revelation of the Roland Dyens International Competition 2026? Every year since 2016, the Roland Dyens in the skaï association, Guitare Classique magazine, and the Paris Guitar Festival have been discovering exceptional talents who are making their mark on the world of classical guitar.

Follow in the footsteps of Antoine Boyer, Johan Smith, Cassie Martin, Fu Ping Ryu, Laura Rouy, Edith Pageaud, Sotiris Athanasiou, and Vera Danilina: become the Classical Guitar Revelation 2026. All these artists were discovered by Guitare Classique magazine during the Roland Dyens International Competition and have gone on to enjoy successful international careers.

Final of the Roland Dyens Competition 2026: an exceptional moment

Selected by a jury composed of personalities from the world of classical guitar, the three finalists will take to the stage at the Paris Guitar Festival on March 6, 2026. The winner will be announced during the 10th Classical Guitar Night, on the same evening, during a special tribute to Roland Dyens, who passed away ten years ago. The winner will perform a piece on stage in the Moebius concert hall, between concerts by Cassie Martin and Thibaut Garcia.


Terms and conditions

  • No age or nationality restrictions.
  • Participation is free of charge.
  • Post a link to a presentation video followed by a maximum of 15 minutes of unedited music.
  • Introduce yourself to the jury in a few sentences at the beginning of the video.
  • You must include a piece composed or arranged by Roland Dyens (See his complete repertoire in the “Works” section of our website).
  • Ensure your video is of high technical quality (good lighting, appropriate framing, optimal sound quality).
  • The video will remain confidential and will not be broadcast or published, except for the finalists.
  • Video submission deadline: February 6, 2026, at midnight.

Procedure

  • Selection of three finalists by a professional jury from the magazine.
  • Public final on the afternoon of March 6, 2026.
  • Program of no more than 15 minutes, including a piece by Roland Dyens.
  • After the finalists’ performances, a jury of experts from the guitar and music world (magazine, concert performers, labels, publishers) will select the winner of the competition.
  • The winner will be announced in public, following the jury’s deliberations, on the evening of the competition, during the “10th Classical Guitar Night, TRIBUTE TO ROLAND DYENS” event. »
  • The winner will play a piece by Roland Dyens on the same evening during the “10th Night of Classical Guitar, TRIBUTE TO ROLAND DYENS” between Cassie Martin’s first part and Thibaut Garcia’s concert.
  • Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the finalists.

  4. Performance at the Rencontres Guitares et Patrimoine en Ardennes festival (June–July 2026) *
  5. Programming at the 6 Cordes au Fil de l’Allier festival (Friday, July 17, 2026) *
  6. Programming at the Roland Dyens in the Skaï festival (October 9, 10, or 11, 2026) *
  7. Programming for the Paris International Guitar Festival with Tania Chagnot (November 2026) *
  8. Programming for the 2027 edition of the Paris Guitar Festival*

* Candidates reserve the right to decline the concerts offered depending on their schedule and place of residence, bearing in mind that transportation costs from their place of residence are their responsibility.

Deadline for registration and submission of materials: February 6, 2026, at midnight.
